Job Description

Are you passionate about cloud infrastructure, automation, and sustainability? Join us as a Lead DevOps Engineer to shape the future of Greenly’s infrastructure.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary owner and responsible party for the entire infrastructure, ensuring its security, availability (99.5%) and scalability.
  • Evolve, implement, maintain and scale our infrastructure using Terraform and GCP.
  • Optimize our infrastructure for performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Lead DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes orchestration, and cloud automation.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate infrastructure with our tech stack.
  • Implement security best practices in infrastructure management.
  • Monitor infrastructure health using Datadog and ensure high availability.
  • Solve scalability and performance issues through diagnostics and actions.
  • Maintain availability, integrity, and compliance controls of the platform on Vanta.
  • Perform Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery tests.
  • Maintain network and architecture diagrams as well as technical architecture documentation.

Our Tech Stack:

  • At Greenly, we leverage cloud tools to architect and scale our solutions with agility.
  • 🔧 Retool is central to our operations, serving as the foundation for building our main SaaS applications. This approach enables us to deliver user-centric solutions rapidly.
  • 🔧 Our backend infrastructure is powered by Node.js and TypeScript, which provide the scalability and performance essential for our applications.
  • 🔧 Data management is handled by Postgres, ensuring integrity and reliability. We uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency through Datadog, for real-time application monitoring, Jest & Cypress, for comprehensive testing, and GitHub Actions, for efficient continuous integration and deployment.
  • Infrastructure: Our robust cloud infrastructure is built on Google Cloud Platform for scalability and reliability, with Terraform enabling infrastructure-as-code practices for consistent deployments. We leverage Kubernetes for container orchestration and automated scaling, while Cloud Run provides serverless compute capabilities for specific microservices.
  • A small portion of our apps is deployed on GKE, using Helm.

    You are a fit for this role if you...
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or cloud engineering roles.
  • Expertise in Terraform, GCP, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools (or similar like AWS/Azure)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience with monitoring tools like Datadog.
  • A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in French and English. 🇫🇷 🇬🇧
  • Are comfortable diving deep into GCP, Terraform, and Kubernetes documentation to find optimal solutions for our challenges.
  • Are detail-oriented and mindful that your work directly impacts all Greenly's users and coworkers.
  • Are enthusiastic about helping other teams implement their solutions by understanding their needs, anticipating challenges, and providing the right environment.
  • Are persistent in troubleshooting: whether issues stem from network problems, resource exhaustion, or have unclear root causes.
  • Don't need to be an expert in GCP, Terraform, or Kubernetes, but are eager to learn and skilled at finding resources to overcome challenges.
  • Excel at implementing simple yet robust solutions.
  • Have the desire to collaborate closely with the security team.
